Leading edge nanotechnology filter
Airific 2.0 is the first face mask in the world that uses a nanotechnology media in the middle layer. Standard masks, which are somewhat porous, cannot block nanoparticles smaller than 0.3 microns whereas the Airific 2.0, with a middle-layer media made using nanotechnology, has been laboratory tested and proven to effectively capture >96% of all nanoparticles down to 0.1 microns.
The middle layer of the Airific 2.0 mask, the electro spun nanotech fibre media, is sown into the mask, and is irreplaceable. Nanofibers form spider web-like structures which have an advantage over conventional or even natural media due to their massive surface area, large pore numbers, and tiny pore size. Each mask’s middle-layer media is estimated to contain over 25km of nanofiber in an area less than 1mm thick.
Lowest breathing resistance
Comfort is of utmost importance when wearing a mask for 6–10 hours per day. The Airific 2.0 captures particles with a low pressure drop, making it extremely comfortable with the lowest breathing resistance as tested by Nelsons Labs
Due to an extremely high ‘capture index’, the Airific 2.0 can be confidently worn in mild to severely polluted conditions while still looking stylish. The embedded nanotechnology media offers up to 200-500 hours use depending on the AQI. The Airific 2.0 is highly breathable under all conditions including heat and tropics.
Superb fit for every face type
The efficacy of a mask depends on a proper fit and a tight seal around the mouth. For this reason, the Airific 2.0 is available in 5 different sizes, to deliver a customised fit for every face type.
The Airific 2.0 is reusable and washable. It is good for up to 200 hours of usage in conditions up to 300 AQI. In lower AQI conditions, the life of the mask will be extended. Additionally, the mask is lightweight and made from all-natural fabrics namely cotton, linen, hemp and flax to provide a snug and comfortable fit and feel.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does Airific 2.0 masks protect from?
Airific 2.0 masks have an advanced technology that protects you from >95% of particulate matter and other contaminants.
What is the Airific 2.0 mask made of?
The Airific 2.0 is a 3-layer mask.
In the middle layer, we use an electro spun nanofibre media infused with antibacterial additives to trap even the smallest airborne particles. Our exclusive nanofibre captures all airborne particulates and is certified to block down to 100 nanometers (0.1 micron) with a 96% efficacy.
Nanofibers are incredibly small fibres – thousands of times thinner than a human hair. Nanofibers form spiderweb-like structures which have an advantage over conventional or even natural media due to their massive surface area, large pore numbers and tiny pore size. Each mask’s middle-layer media is estimated to contain over 25km of nanofiber in an area less than 1mm thick.
The inner and outer layers are made of all-natural fabrics namely cotton, linen, hemp and flax.
Why did we use a nanotechnology filter in a mask?
Harmful particles are spheres with diameters of approximately 125 nanometers, or 0.125 microns. We needed a media that can block down to 100 nanometers or 0.1 micron – that leaves nanotech as the only option!
So two reasons:
- Highest filtration efficiency.
- Lowest breathing resistance – this is very important as comfort is key to wear the mask for 6-10 hours per day – the new normal.
What are the safety procedures for handling a mask?
You have to wash your hands with soap/sanitizer before and after you touch your mask. Only touch the mask from the ear loops to wear and remove it. Avoid touching the outer or inner face of the mask as it may be contaminated. In case you do come in contact with these surfaces, please wash your hands with soap, or use hand sanitizer immediately.
How to disinfect the Airific 2.0 mask ?
- Using a UV sterilizer
- Sunning the mask in the day or airing it in a fanned room so that all the moisture on the mask is dry will kill any contaminant.
Keep in mind that washing a mask does not sterilize it.
Do we need to disinfect every time even if we use Airific 2.0 mask for an hour or less?
If you have been in a crowded space, then you must disinfect after every use, irrespective of the length of time of usage
How do we identify that Airific 2.0 mask needs to be discarded?
You will find it difficult to breathe with it – the breathing resistance will become high.
What is the process for disposal?
Disinfect following above process and dispose
What is the life of Airific 2.0 Mask?
Airific 2.0 offers life up to 200 hours use in conditions up to 300 AQI. In lower AQI conditions, the life of the mask will be extended.
Where do you need to wear your Airific 2.0 mask?
Well, pretty much everywhere, once you cross the Laxman Rekha of your home. We now know from recent studies that a significant portion of individuals are “asymptomatic” and that even those who eventually develop symptoms (“pre-symptomatic”) can transmit to others before showing symptoms. This means that it can spread between people interacting in close proximity—for example, speaking, coughing, sneezing or even breathing — even if those people are not exhibiting symptoms. Considering this new evidence, CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores, offices, schools and pharmacies).
Essentially, you must operate with the assumption that every person you share a space with is infected, and vice versa. Each one of us has a significant role in flattening the curve. Be safe!
