  • Firstly, make a note of the things that you would require to clean the filter, such as a screwdriver, vacuum cleaner, microfiber cloth, bucket, liquid soap or dish wash, and, lukewarm water.   
  • Now the first step is locating the air filter inside your car. It is located under the vehicle’s hood, which is easily identifiable. You might need to use a screwdriver to take the filters out of the housing box. 
  • Use the microfiber cloth to wipe down the housing unit of the filter. 
  • The next step is vacuuming. Start by shaking off the loose dust from the air filter, following it by vacuuming using a soft duster/brush attachment. Keep a firm grip on but not so hard to cause a rip or any other damage. 
  • Now that your filter is free from all the loose dust and minute particles, it’s time to give it a proper wash. Mix a small amount of dish wash or any other form of mild soap with warm water in the bucket. Swish and then rinse the filter using lukewarm water. 
  • Drain out the excess water and repeat if necessary. After you are satisfied with the washing results, lay the filter in the sun to dry. It should be dry before re-installation inside the car. The standard time is 24 hours.
  • Once the filters are dry, you can reinstall them inside the car and enjoy the clean air filter in car.
