Wait, Is the Air Really That Bad?
Let’s face it: Most of us don’t check AQI levels regularly before stepping outside. But those tiny PM2.5 particles? They’re not just 'dust'. Imagine lining up 30 of them side by side; they’d still be thinner than a single strand of hair. These particles slip past your nose hairs and settle deep in your lungs. Over time, that buildup can take a toll on your health. A pollution mask isn’t just for apocalyptic smog days. It’s more like sunscreen for your lungs, daily protection to keep you safe.
How a Pollution Mask Outsmarts Dirty Air
Here’s the thing: Filters aren’t magic. The best pollution masks use multiple layers, creating a security system for your airways. N95 masks capture 95% of pollutants, while N99 versions block even more. But even the most advanced filter won’t help if your mask doesn’t fit properly. That’s why the nose wire matters. Press it snugly, adjust the straps, and do the 'suck test'. Inhale sharply. If the mask pulls inward, you’ve got a good seal. If not, adjust the fit.
Unexpected Wins of Wearing a Pollution Mask

Not all masks feel like a sauna on your face. At Nirvana Being, we prioritise breathability. Our Airific line uses featherlight filters that block PM2.5 but still let you talk and breathe comfortably.
Q: What is the Airific 2.0 made of?
A: The Airific is one of the best pollution face wear and has three layers. In the middle layer, we use an electro-spun nanofiber media to provide a higher level of safety and protection and filter down to particle sizes up to 0.1 microns (including respiratory droplets and pollutants such as bacteria, pollen, and other allergens) as small as 0.1 microns in size.
Each face wear’s middle-layer media that is estimated to contain over 25km of nanofibers in an area less than 1mm thick. The inner and outer layers are made of all-natural fabrics: cotton, linen, hemp, and flax.
Q: What are the safety procedures for handling Airific 2.0?
A: You must wash your hands with soap or disinfectant before and after touching the mask. Only touch the mask from the ear loops to wear and remove it. Avoid touching the outer or inner layers of the mask, as it may be contaminated. In case you do come in contact with these surfaces, please wash your hands with soap or use a disinfectant immediately.
Q: How can I disinfect Airific 2.0?
A: You may use a UV sterilizer. Furthermore, sunning the product during the day or airing it in a fanned room so that all the moisture on the product is dry will kill any contaminants. Keep in mind that washing the product does not sterilize it, and spraying disinfectants on it may lead to discolouration.
Q: Do I need to disinfect every time, even if I use the Airific 2.0 for an hour or less?
A: If you have been in a crowded space, you must disinfect it after every use, regardless of how long you used it. This is a key safety procedure to prevent the spread of contaminants.
Q: How do I identify when the mask needs to be replaced with a new one?
A: When your breathing resistance is high, you must discard your face wear and get a new one. Also, if the fit is compromised so that all the air on the inhale does not enter through the face of the product, a replacement is due.
